iOS 17: Features, List of Supported Apple Devices

Apple has revealed the iOS 17, and here are its features and list of devices that will receive the latest software update.

iOS 17 Key Features

Contact Posters: A customizable call screen where you can change how you like contacts to appear and select the best customizations like photos or Memoji, add captions, and change font colors.

NameDrop: You can select the phone numbers or email addresses you wish to share just by tapping your phones together (or an iPhone and an Apple Watch), and you can share them instantly, along with their Contact Poster.

Live Voicemail: You don't have to pick up when an unrecognized number is calling; the smartphone will instead do that for you and will show the live scrolling text (a live transcript) of what the person on the other end is saying. Meanwhile, calls that are tagged as "Spam" by telco providers will be automatically declined.

iMessage: Comes with enhanced searching features with filters, the capability to transcribe voice messages, a swipe-to-reply function, support for real-time location updating in-app, and enhanced emojis and Live stickers.

Apple Maps: Maps can now be saved offline. Simply save a map area to your iPhone and browse it offline. On place cards, you can view information such as hours and ratings and receive turn-by-turn directions for driving, walking, cycling, or taking public transportation.

StandBy Display: A new full-screen experience, allowing users to turn their iPhone into a smart display on their nightstand. The new feature can show the time in cool clock layouts, date, music player, photos, widgets, etc., when the iPhone is on a desk in landscape mode, eliminating the need for a MagSafe connector or dock. Live Activities, incoming calls, Siri, and larger notifications are also supported to improve usability when viewed from a distance.
