PH mobile download speed at 26.98 Mbps: Ookla June 2023

The Speedtest Global Index report for June 2023 has been revealed by Ookla, indicating that the Philippines' internet rank has maintained in Mobile and decreased by two positions in Fixed Broadband.

The country ranked 47th globally in the Fixed Broadband category, recording an average median download speed of 92.84 Mbps. The average upload speed was recorded at 93.12 Mbps, and the average latency was 6 ms. Compared to the May 2023 charts, which listed average download and upload speeds of 91.62 Mbps and 92.53 Mbps, respectively, both download and upload speeds saw an improvement.

In the Mobile category, the Philippines ranked 83rd, listing an average of 26.98 Mbps download speed. The average upload speed and latency were registered at 6.18 Mbps and 23 ms, respectively. This month's record shows a small increase in both download and upload speeds compared to the previous month's results of 25.84 Mbps and 6.04 Mbps, respectively.

Philippines ranks 83rd in mobile and 47th in fixed broadband, according to the June 2023 data of the Ookla Speedtest Global Index.

Regarding global median speeds, the average download speed for Fixed Broadband is 81.60 Mbps, while the average for Mobile is 42.92 Mbps.

United Arab Emirates (UAE) dominated the mobile internet speed charts worldwide, registering an average speed of 200.24 Mbps. Meanwhile, Singapore ranked first in the fixed broadband category, with an average of 247.29 Mbps download speeds.

The Speedtest Global Index for June 2023 includes 140 countries for Mobile and 180 for Fixed Broadband.

For starters, the Speedtest Global Index results consider the median download speed to offer a more precise representation of the internet speeds that a user can achieve in a particular market, as per analytics firm Ookla.
