Valorant Episode (EP) 7 Act 2: Sunset Map, Battlepass, Imperium Skin

Riot Games has released Valorant Episode (EP) 7 Act 2, bringing Sunset map, new battle pass, Imperium Skinline, and updates on Premier mode. Check out below all the highlights of the new patch rolled out on August 29, 2023.

New Map: Sunset

Sunset, a map inspired by Riot's hometown of Los Angeles, California, showcases the city's cultural essence. The map features food trucks, art deco, mission-style architecture, traffic, neon sunset, and graffiti highlighting the work of local artists.

The Sunset map has two sites and three lanes, making mid-control a key strategy for players to focus on.

Valorant Episode 7 Act 2 Battlepass

The EP 7 Act 2 battle pass costs 1,000 Valorant Points (VP) and includes a wide range of new skins. It features various skin lines: Panoramic, Freehand, Transition, RDVR, RetroLA, and StickerPop.

According to Valorant producer Mingxi Zou, the whole skinline is based on Los Angeles' skatepark history. She said they "designed this Battlepass to capture the thrilling energy of the tournament and the vibrant spirit of Los Angeles, the host city." For the skinlines in this pass, Zou said they "drew inspiration from LA's unique street culture, iconic sunset, and incorporated elements like skateboarding and graffiti-style fashion."

Valorant Imperium skinline bundle

According to Valorant senior game producer Jean Luc Tin Sive, the Imperium skin line "was themed around East Asian weaponry and armor, with the dragon as a central element." Further, Valorant art direction senior manager said that "the variants were inspired by Chinese mythology, with each weapon variant representing different dragon kings and their respective colors." Anson Tan, Concept Art Manager, and Bastien Ramisse, Character Art Manager, jointly said that they "worked hard on the visuals of the dragon and how it blends with the environment to make sure that, in most cases, the dragon would be visible in its magnificence."

Its thematic goals are Dragon, Cultural, Magical, Beautiful, and Elegant. Moreover, the Imperium skinline features one of the largest Finishers Valorant has ever created (includes finisher variants with different dragons for each variant), custom firing audio, visual effects, color variants, and dual-handed blade melee.
