Overwatch 2 Anniversary 2023 Event
Overwatch 2 is celebrating its first anniversary, and millions of players have already joined in. Along with this, the game is offering exciting rewards for three weeks. You can play past event modes in the Arcade and earn Overwatch Credits, which can be used to purchase limited-time Anniversary Shop skins that are very popular among fans.
Week 1 – Winter Wonderland and Battle for Olympus
As the event kicks off, get ready to experience the frosty fun with the return of Winter Wonderland event game modes. Join the ultimate snowball fight with Mei's Snowball Offense, which comes in both Elimination and Deathmatch versions. Challenge yourself with the exciting 1v5 Yeti Hunt or the tough Flash Freeze elimination game modes.
For those who enjoy challenging games, Battle for Olympus makes a comeback in Week 1 with both Free-For-All Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch modes. This game features eight heroes who have been given god-like ultimates to create a frenzied combat that will shake the heavens.
Week 2 – Assault, Catch-a-Mari, and Starwatch: Galactic Rescue
Classic Overwatch Assault maps can be played in the Arcade once again. In these maps, teams need to either capture or defend two fixed objective points. These maps are regarded as the most challenging to play due to their long and intense team fights. To win, you need to have exceptional coordination and teamwork.
Overwatch 2 will feature a revamped version of the popular Catch-A-Mari game mode, which is an elimination-style game where you collect Pachimari toys dropped by defeated opponents to score points and win. Additionally, players will be able to save the galaxy in Starwatch: Galactic Rescue. This game mode is a four-objective point map where a team of Watchers (attackers) work to free 3CH-O, played by Echo, from the clutches of the Infinite Empire (defenders).
Week 3 – Summer Games And Mischief & Magic
In the final week of the Anniversary event, Summer Games are back, including Lúcioball and Winston's Beach Volleyball.
Moreover, Overwatch 2 is bringing back Mischief & Magic, a prop hunt-style game mode. In this mode, Knight Genji chases down Rogue Kiriko as she transforms and hides as everyday objects.
Earn Credits To Redeem Returning Shop Skins
Complete all the challenges that appear during the event to earn up to 3,000 Overwatch Credits. You can then use these credits to purchase premium skins from the Anniversary Credit shop, such as Space Raider Cassidy, Hermes Lucio, Beekeeper Sigma, and more. You can also save your credits for future opportunities to buy new skins that will be available in later seasons.
The Overwatch 2 Anniversary event for 2023 is now live until October 9, and the Anniversary Shop will disappear on October 16.
