Xiaomi HyperOS Features, Supported Devices, Update Schedule

After announcing HyperOS, Xiaomi unveiled the features, list of support devices, and the update schedule (China and Global ROM) of its new OS.

Xiaomi HyperOS - Key Features

Xiaomi HyperOS, the successor to MIUI skin, powers the brand's smart ecosystem of personal devices, cars, and home products with four major goals: Low-level Refactoring, Cross-End Intelligent Connectivity, Proactive Intelligence, and End-to-End Security.

The Xiaomi HyperOS is powered by Linux and Xiaomi's self-developed Xiaomi Vela system. It offers excellent compatibility and precise system resource management, allowing all devices to deliver optimal performance. Games run smoother on phones with Xiaomi HyperOS than on stock Android or other custom OS, with stable frame rates and lower power consumption.

HyperOS is an innovative solution that ensures all your connected devices work in harmony, allowing the software to adapt to your needs. With this latest operating system, you can switch between camera sources seamlessly during video conferencing, access your car cameras from your phone, use your phone's rear camera while working on a tablet or laptop, and even connect your tablet to the internet using your smartphone. Moreover, you can effortlessly move apps, clipboard content, and notifications between your devices as per your requirements.

Xiaomi's HyperMind is the cognitive hub of their device ecosystem, introducing innovative cross-device connections that incorporate 'proactive intelligence.' For example, if a user consistently turns on the living room light after unlocking their smart door lock, HyperMind will learn this pattern and automatically illuminate the room with the user's consent.

Xiaomi HyperOS prioritizes security, providing protection not only to individual devices but also to interconnected security modules. The interconnected security module-based TEE creates mutual trust among devices within the network. To ensure the safety of the entire network, Xiaomi HyperOS uses end-to-end encryption through TEE for data transmission between devices.
