The lineup for Team Philippines has been finalized for the upcoming international PUBG Mobile professional tournaments in 2024. PUBG Mobile PH has chosen its squads to compete against the best from Myanmar, Cambodia, and Singapore.
Harame Bro emerged as champions in the PUBG MOBILE National Championships (PMNC) held on January 6-7, 2024, at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) in Pasay City. The team won a lion's share of the PHP 500,000 cash prize pool.
They were joined on the podium by 214 Akira (2nd place), Exquisite Esports (3rd place), Dread Esports (4th place), and ELV8 Esports (5th place).
These seven teams, including top seeds Playbook Esports (PBE) and Enigma, will represent the Philippines in this year's international PUBG MOBILE Esports competitions.
Over the course of several events, these teams have beaten more than 200 teams from across the country with their gaming skills and ability to work together. Not only do they want to be known as one of the best PUBG Mobile teams in the Philippines, but they also want to promote their country on a global level, which would boost the country's growing status in the region's competitive gaming scene.
PUBG Mobile, an internationally renowned mobile game, has evolved into something more than a mere amusement for players of all ages. As e-sports have become more popular, young Filipinos have been able to dream of becoming professionals or go "pro."
Franchesca Fajardo, Esports Manager at PUBG MOBILE Philippines, affirms:
We are thrilled to have our first-ever offline event for the PUBG Mobile National Championships. Since 2022, only one team has made it to the regional pro tournaments. Now, there are seven. Knowing our teams, we look forward to the matches against our Southeast Asian neighbors and for our Filipino representatives to impress the region with their skills and strategy.
To recall, Abdul "Monboy" Barode won the inaugural bronze medal for the Philippines in the PUBG MOBILE Individual Event of the 32nd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games last year, bringing national pride and solidifying the Philippines' position as a regional leader in esports.
