2XKO, slated for 2025 release, is the official name of Riot Games' upcoming 2v2 fighting game (codenamed Project L) based on League of Legends (LoL). Check out more details below.
In an X (formerly Twitter) post, 2XKO (Formerly Project L) stated that the title is "pronounced how it's spelled."
In a statement, Riot Games revealed its plans for 2XKO, which are as follows:
- 2XKO will host playable demos globally, including at Evo Japan in April 2024.
- Riot Games said it would share more in-development work about the 2XKO's gameplay, art, and music through the game's social channels.
According to Riot Games, they plan to fully launch 2XKO on various platforms such as PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox Series S and X, and PC in 2025.
Riot Games also noted that those who want to try the game may go to the official website (https://ift.tt/13dZr0O) to register. Playtests are scheduled to start in late 2024.
To recap, 2XKO is a free-to-play 2v2 fighting game that offers both competitive and cooperative gameplay. Participants can join forces and take control of either of the two characters on a team, enabling them to swap in and out of the fight on demand. This feature adds an extra layer of strategy and depth to battles, allowing players to work together seamlessly.
In this tag-team fighter game, players can create their own team by choosing characters from the League of Legends universe. So far, only a few characters from the roster have been revealed, including Ekko, Darius, Ahri, and Yasuo. Each of these characters has abilities similar to what they have in League of Legends. For example, Ekko can create temporal clones of himself, while Ahri can use her signature orbs to attack.
