Garena Mobile App will go fully web-based by the end of 2024 to offer "a better user experience" for players, announced Garena.
The announcement was posted through the official Garena Call of Duty Mobile Facebook page.
To provide a better user experience for all, we will be migrating the Garena Mobile app to be fully web-based by the end of 2024.
The Singapore-based game company also reiterated that Garena Call of Duty Mobile (CODM) is not going to shut down because some players are worried.
This [transition] is for the Garena Mobile app only. The game app itself, "Garena Call of Duty Mobile," is NOT AFFECTED.
Here's what players can expect as part of the transition.
- You can continue to log in using your Garena account as per usual.
- All Garena-related items can be accessed via the Garena website [https://ift.tt/qVQXHfJ].
- All game logins will operate as per usual and will NOT be interrupted in any way.
- The Garena Mobile app will be phasing out from the App Store and Google Play Store starting from 1 July 2024.
- The "Update avatar of Garena account" and "Chat with friends" features will no longer be available on mobile but [will] still [be] available [on] Garena PC.
Garena noted:
Our goal is to ensure that you have a seamless and improved gaming experience. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this transition.
For those uninitiated, the Garena App (formerly Garena Gas) was a platform designed for gamers to play, connect, and explore various games. It offered access to popular games like League of Legends, Arena of Valor, and Garena Free Fire. Users can chat with friends, check game statistics, view match records, and win rewards through features like Magic Spin.
