HUAWEI MatePad 11.5" S, equipped with an upgraded PaperMatte Display, is set to release in the Philippines on July 5, 2024. Check out more details below.
According to Huawei Philippines, the MatePad 11.5" S, along with the recently launched MatePad SE 11", are "designed to meet the diverse needs of young professionals and modern households." It cited that they "set new standards in design, functionality, and user experience, catering to both professional and family use."
Huawei's engineers capitalized on years of research on visual fatigue to replicate the essential attributes of paper-like displays. They developed models to assess eye comfort, screen feel, and handwriting feel, with an emphasis on anti-glare, eye protection, and a paper-like texture for stylus use. The tablet experience was revolutionized by these innovations, which combined digital screens with paper-like display technology to improve work and study. These improvements were introduced on the HUAWEI MatePad 11.5" S this year.

Available in Violet and Space Gray colorways, it is the first productivity Huawei tablet to incorporate PaperMatte Display technology, resulting in an optimal balance of visual and tactile experiences.
Huawei's PaperMatte Display is equipped with proprietary optimizations and advanced nanoscale anti-glare etching, which effectively reduces reflected light interference by 99 percent. The emitted light is softened by multiple layers of nanoscale magnetron optical coating, which reduces surface reflectivity to under 2 percent. This enables users to experience high-resolution and vibrant colors.
The HUAWEI MatePad 11.5" S has been awarded eye protection certifications, which emphasize its eye-friendly design. The device's PaperMatte Display has been awarded the Low Visual Fatigue Premium Performance Certification from SGS, as well as the Reflection-Free, Low Blue Light (Hardware Solution), and Flicker-Free standards certifications from TÃœV Rheinland.
The nano-level etching technique provides 47% more satisfaction than conventional LCD displays by simulating the texture of paper for handwriting. The HUAWEI MatePad 11.5" S replicates the pencil-on-paper experience while maintaining essential audio-visual capabilities when paired with the HUAWEI M-Pencil (3rd generation) powered by NearLink technology.
Further, it has an ultra-hydrophobic and oil-resistant film that keeps fingerprints and grease off, making it comfortable to touch and lowering the need to clean it often, whether you're surfing the web, reading an ebook, or creating art.
When it comes to its spec sheet, HUAWEI MatePad 11.5" S has an 11.5-inch TFT LCD (IPS) PaperMatte display with 144Hz refresh rate, 2.8K 2800 x 1840 pixels resolution, 87% screen-to-body ratio, 3:2 aspect ratio, and color P3 accuracy. The tablet has an unidentified Kirin chipset, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, and an 8,800mAh battery with USB-C 22.5W fast charger. For cameras, it has a 13MP f/1.8 main camera and an 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera to capture images and record videos. Other features include quad speakers with HUAWEI 9.0 audio and 2x microphones for improved calls. WiFi 6 (2.4GHz/5GHz) + Cavity Slot Magnetic (CSM) and anti-interference NearLink antennas are included. NearLink M-Pencil, the 3rd-gen HUAWEI stylus with over 10,000 pressure sensing levels, and NearLink Keyboard with minimal latency are also supported by the tablet. This gadget has a PC-level WPS office with a tablet-friendly interface and appearance. The tablet runs HarmonyOS 4.2 with HUAWEI SuperHub for easy file distribution across linked devices. Lastly, the tablet has a multi-window mode and an app multiplier for multitasking.
GoPaint, Huawei's new art app, makes painting easier. Over 1,000 expert painters tested GoPaint, developed with the China Academy of Art, to create realistic painting effects. It has over 100 brushes and realistic textures and FangTian Painting Engine-powered features like Canvas Background Pattern and Ink Wash for smooth performance, minimal latency, and high frame rates. Create art with smart tools like curve correction and willow leaf, and learn the software with interactive lessons and user manuals.
