Genshin Impact 4.8 update is slated for release on July 17, 2024, HoYoverse announced. The latest Genshin Impact version 4.8 patch, titled "An Everlasting Dream Intertwined," introduces several updates, including a brand-new summer map Simulanka, which brings new regions, new stories, seasonal events, rich rewards, as well as new outfits for Nilou and Kirara. Meanwhile, Emilie will debut as a new five-star character.

New Character: Emilie
The renowned perfumer and 5-star Dendro polearm user will make a debut on Genshin Impact version 4.8.
Emilie can deal more damage to Burning enemies thanks to her unique abilities. Her combat mechanics are centered on the "Lumidouce Case," which intermittently inflicts Dendro DMG. The 'Case' can be upgraded to deal greater damage based on her attack if enemies are affected by the 'Burning' effect. It also benefits from a faster attack speed and a wider attack range. In "Pomum de Ambra Chapter," Emilie explores her second identity as a "forensic cleaner" expert in crime scene investigation and solves the enigma of the "Auguste" flower in her Story Quest.
New Outfits for Nilou and Kirara
Kirara and Nilou, the two heroines of the expedition, will appear in their new outfits. Kirara's new phantom burglar-themed outfit can be obtained by accumulating "Excerpts of Bliss" as they collect "Jubilant Feathers" and access "Fairytale Troves" around Simulanka. Players can recruit Kirara into the team for free by drawing a specific number of figurines. On the other hand, the store will offer a limited-time discount on Nilou's new floral-themed outfit.
New Map: Simulanka
Simulanka is a captivating realm that is home to a variety of unique regions, each of which is inhabited by fantastical beings, origami creatures, and clockwork figures. Players have the opportunity to investigate the enchanting landscapes, assist in the resolution of an imminent crisis, and uncover the truth and surprises of this enchanted world in collaboration with Kirara, Nilou, Navia, and the Wanderer.

- Phase 1 - Reruns of Navia and Nilou will take place in the first phase.
- Phase 2 - Emilie's debut and Yelan's rerun will appear in the latter half.
New Events
Seasonal events will occur in the vicinity of Simulanka. These events will encompass a diverse array of mini-games and bonuses.
In "Boreal Flurry," players will have the opportunity to shoot balloons while enjoying an aerial experience that overlooks Simulanka.
In "Flying Hatter's Trick," players will be tasked with capturing as many moving toy figures as possible.
In "Metropole Trials," players will be required to assemble two teams of characters to face the combat challenges.
By successfully finishing these mini-games, players will be able to acquire Starsail Coins, which can be used to draw a variety of figurines with unique gestures. These figurines can be displayed on "Good Shelves" that are dispersed throughout Simulanka. "Good Shelves" are also available as Furnishings as a reward for finishing all main stories in Simulanka. Afterward, they may be put in the Serenitea Pot as summer mementos.
More Updates
Another optimization to the Encounter Point System will be implemented subsequent to the reduction in level requirements in Version 4.7. Players will have the ability to earn Encounter Points and make use of them at their leisure to obtain Daily Commission rewards. By completing quests, acquiring specific items such as Oculi, opening chests, or completing event objectives, excess points that have accumulated beyond the daily limit can be converted into new Long-Term Encounter Points. To convert Long-Term Encounter Points into Daily Encounter Points, merely complete activities that consume Original Resin, such as claiming rewards from Trounce Domains, Ley Line Blossoms, and World Bosses. Nevertheless, the Long-Term Encounter Points will be reset with each version update that concludes with ".0," such as Version 5.0.
Moreover, the cooldown for World Bosses, which requires 40 Original Resin to claim rewards, has been significantly reduced from 5 minutes to a mere 10 seconds. This improvement enables the conversion of Long-Term Encounter Points to claim Daily Commission bonuses, as well as faster Resin consumption and smoother challenges.
"Echo," an additional new feature in V4.8, will introduce new effects to character movements, resulting in a distinctive trailing effect while sprinting. Players will be able to acquire Echoes for Diluc, Qiqi, Kirara, Jean, and Ningguang by accomplishing the "Envisaged Echoes" challenges in the Imaginarium Theater lobby in Version 4.8. Two special keys are necessary to access these challenges. The player will receive two keys upon entering "Envisaged Echoes," and they can obtain additional keys by accomplishing Act 6 of the Imaginarium Theater each season.
