PUBG Update 17.2 brings 1v1 Arena, Weapon Balance, more
Game developer Krafton has released the 17.2 Update in PUBG: Battlegrounds, now available on PC and consoles.
Update 17.2 debuts the 1v1 Arena in Training Mode, in which players can engage in 1v1 duels. In addition, patch 17.2 includes updates to the Spotter Scope and rebalanced 5.56 Designated Marksman Rifles (DMR) and Mortars.
The 1v1 Arena is now accessible in Training Mode for all types of combat practice in a 1v1 setting. Players can engage in 1v1 rounds with an opponent or spectate intense battles to determine who is the best in their squad.
The previous Patch Notes hinted that the Spotter Scope would soon undergo both significant and minor changes. The Spotter Scope, as well as its automatic features of marking and following enemies, continued to exhibit excessively strong performance, causing players more stress than enjoyment. Thus, the enemy detection range has been reduced from 1,000 meters to 600 meters, and the white passive marker will no longer automatically appear in ADS (Aim Down Sight) mode.
The latest patch introduces changes to 5.56mm DMRs, namely the MK12 and Mini14. Players found it difficult to control the MK12 after the damage-related update, so its recoil recovery value has been increased to match the Mini14’s stability.
Additionally, the Mini14’s damage has been raised from 47 to 48. Following the Taego-only Mortar weapon release, the development team has gathered valuable player feedback and decided to make adjustments to unlock its full potential. The Mortar can now be deployed on any terrain, with the exception of unsecured deploy angles and water. In addition, the weapon will be available on all maps, except for Haven, and will consume an inventory slot during Normal matches.

PUBG Battlegrounds is a free-to-play battle royale game available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia.
