Mobile Legends (Women's) is part of Asian Esports Games 2024

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) women's category is announced to be part of the upcoming Asian Esports Games (AEG) 2024 Bangkok.

According to Moonton Games, MLBB is set to elevate the AEG and inclusivity by being the exclusive esports title for the women's competition.

Organized by the Thailand Esports Federation (TESF) and officially sanctioned by the Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF), the Asian Esports Games 2024 will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from November 25 to 27.

The Asian Esports Games 2024 Mobile Legends women's competition will feature a record 20 regional teams from Southeast Asia, Central Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East. This roster establishes a new bar for women's esports diversity and shows Mobile Legends' leadership in regional recognition and possibilities for female players. The Mobile Legends women's tournament, with representatives from the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, and China, as well as first-time participants from Nepal, Mongolia, and Tajikistan, expresses the unifying spirit of esports and its growing popularity among Asian female esports athletes.

Ray Ng, head of esports ecosystem at MOONTON Games, said:
This year's Asian Esports Games marks another huge milestone for women's esports. The representation of 20 regions in the MLBB women's tournament exemplifies our commitment to diversity and the dedication of AESF and TESF in creating a competitive platform that encourages inclusivity globally. We are thrilled to witness the strengthening of the esports ecosystem, with more countries embracing women's esports, allowing the MLBB community to continue breaking boundaries.

Santi Lothong, TESF president, said:
We are proud to organize the Asian Esports Games and support the growth of women's esports through the exclusive MLBB competition. This event showcases not only the talent of female players but also Thailand's dedication to fostering a vibrant esports ecosystem. We believe that by providing a platform for women to compete at an international level, we can inspire the next generation of esports athletes across the region.

The Indonesian national team will try to regain its undefeatable status. The Indonesians are mostly from Team Vitality, who ended their 24-match winning streak from 2021 at the MLBB Women's Invitational (MWI) 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Smart Omega Empress, the first Filipino team to win an Esports World Cup, defeated them 3-0 in the Grand Finals and would be expected to compete at the Asian Esports Games 2024 Bangkok.

Smart Omega Empress won their first MWI championship at the Esports World Cup 2024.

Regional inclusivity is evident at AEG 2024

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Asian Esports Games' exclusive women's esports title, shows how the region's esports environment has evolved to foster female talent and inclusivity. China's women's team's first worldwide competition in Southeast Asia is significant. This event shows China's growing interest in esports and the global competitive gaming landscape's expansion as new regions enter.

In 2025, Thailand will host the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, making AEG in Bangkok a crucial event for its esports ecosystem. The AEG, supported by the Sports Authority of Thailand, promotes Thailand's esports potential and makes it a regional sports hub. This event highlights Thailand's dedication to esports talent and infrastructure throughout Asia.

As anticipation rises for the Asian Esports Games, fans and supporters worldwide may watch the next chapter in MLBB women's esports live. The record-breaking participation and geographic diversity of AEG 2024 will usher in a new era for Asian women's esports.
