Globe Telecom introduced eco-friendly 5G SIMs to Globe Prepaid and TM subscribers in a daring move toward sustainability.
According to Globe, this innovation makes eco-friendly SIM cards available to its entire mobile base, with over 96 percent of mobile customers being prepaid and TM users.
To recall, Globe debuted eco-SIMs for postpaid users in 2022, becoming the first Philippine telco to use recycled plastic for sim beds.
Globe Prepaid and TM are embracing environmental responsibility by switching to 100 percent recycled plastic SIMs. This change supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12 on Responsible Consumption and Production and SDG 13 on Climate Action.
Yoly Crisanto, Globe's Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer, said:
Sustainability is at the heart of what we do. We continue to look for areas in the business where our practice leads to greater impact.
Eric Tanbauco, Globe's Head of Consumer Mobile Business, stated:
The launch of our eco-SIMs is just one of the many ways Globe is working towards a greener Philippines, and we invite our customers to be part of this journey.
Globe incorporates eco-friendly practices into its offerings as consumers prioritize sustainability. This connects with customers, especially Gen Z, who want brands to act on climate change. TM is the #1 choice for value-conscious consumers, proving sustainability and affordability can coexist. TM lets users make small yet impactful sustainability contributions without expense. This gives clients a continuous connection while helping the environment.
Further, Globe integrates green measures into its operations. Green network solutions, renewable energy, electric automobiles, and other climate change methods reduce environmental impact.
