TiMi Studio Group and Level Infinite applaud the Honor of Kings community for their outstanding support of this year's Green Game Jam on Earth Day. Organized by Playing For The Planet, an effort backed by the United Nations Environment Programme, this project is part of the Green Game Jam 2025. Their involvement not only raised more awareness of the environmental concerns affecting our world but also guaranteed support for initiatives aimed at preserving and improving four biodiverse ecosystems in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brazil.
Collab Overview
HOK players took part in two in-game events that provided a combination of interesting, informative, and sharable content.
- Unique forest ecosystems and 18 endangered plant and animal species were featured in "Protect Nature, Protect All Life." This event showed that eco-friendly material can captivate players like regular games with over 90% participation. In a follow-up study, 87.97% of participants said they would do more to protect the environment, while 11.56% said they might.
- The HOK community helped the "Match for Green" event go viral using MOBA game social dynamics. Within the first week, each player's invitation increased involvement by two, multiplying outreach through organic peer networks. Despite the challenge's difficulty, gamers worked hard to become "Nature's Protector" and demonstrate how honor-driven rewards and real-world purpose can motivate players.
Players can still join these in-game activities until May 4, 2025, and help even more, which is encouraging.
Collective Efforts Result in Reduced Carbon Emissions
The worldwide Honor of Kings community helped to buy and retire 28,000 metric tons of carbon credits across four projects, therefore providing vital funding to actual conservation activities, equivalent to safeguarding 578,551 square meters.
The projects supported are as follows:
- Katingan Mentaya Project (Indonesia)—protects peatland in Central Kalimantan and reduces emissions
- Kuamut Rainforest Conservation Project (Malaysia)—conserves the Kuamut rainforest's biodiversity and supports local communities
- Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve Project (Indonesia)—protects tropical forests and conserves biodiversity
- Brazilian Amazon APD Grouped Project (Brazil)—prevents deforestation through financial incentives

Real-World Initiatives
Motivated by the involvement in the Green Game Jam, members of the HOK community planned their own conservation efforts beyond the game. Among these were:

The Philippines
Filipino content creators—Shehyee, Ann Mateo, Leomiho, Choox TV, and Kcbae—ran a challenge in cooperation with the Million Trees Foundation whereby every opponent defeated is converted to one tree being hydrobagged to protect them and assist their growth.

Indonesia
Donations made during an HOK livestream by Gerry Eka, Dellete, Tara Arts, and the Bumantara Team, which allowed them to plant mangroves at Taman Wisata Alam Mangrove Angke Kapuk in Jakarta.
Once more, the Honor of Kings team would like to express gratitude to the community for their involvement and the outcomes obtained. Their involvement in both the online and real-world activities obviously shows how gaming can be a good influence in generating awareness for conservation and providing actual assistance for the endangered ecosystems of the earth. – PinoyTechSaga
