On June 18, 2025, Genshin Impact's Version 5.7 will bring two new characters, Skirk and Dahlia, HoYoverse announced. In this latest patch update, players can anticipate a new Archon Quest related to Traveler twins, a new mode, Stygian Onslaught, more in-game events, and optimizations.

New Archon Quest
After the quest titled "Bedtime Story," the Archon Quest unravels the Traveler and sibling's story. In this latest chapter, the Abyss Order mobilizes in Natlan for their sibling's big scheme. Natlan's defenders, notably Mavuika and her allies, remain vigilant, while Dainsleif accompanies Traveler on the front lines in a new guise. The Traveler may discover long-buried secrets about their sibling's plots as they go deeper into the Abyss Order.
Two New Playable Characters
Skirk (Sword, 5-Star Cryo) is a dual-style fighter with a special energy resource who synergizes with teammates with Cryo and Hydro elements.
Skirk, Childe's mysterious master, was trained by Surtalogi, "The Foul," among Khaenri'ah's Five Sinners. The 5-star fighter employs Abyssal power disguised as Cryo to inflict sustained damage with her normal attacks or tremendous AoE Cryo damage with her Elemental Burst. Serpent's Subtlety, gained from Skirk's Skills and Talents, replaces Elemental Energy in both modes. Further, she gives teams with solely Hydro and Cryo characters (at least one of each) an Elemental Skill level boost and a large DMG buff.
Dahlia (Sword, 4-Star Hydro) is a versatile support that buffs ATK SPD and provides shields.
Dahlia, a deacon at the Church of Favonius, supports teammates with renewable shields. The new 4-star Hydro support character's Elemental Burst shield can be reactivated by Normal Attacks or Freeze reactions. His Talent boosts allies' attack speed, while his Elemental Skill bounces allies high in the air or deals Hydro DMG to opponents.
New Mode
"Stygian Onslaught," a permanent combat mode, will be available. With three enemy bosses that rotate every update and six ascending difficulty levels, players can finish the trials to claim Artifacts and a new item named "Dust of Enlightenment," which re-rolls minor affix enhancements on a Level 20 Artifact.
More Updates and Optimizations
Across Teyvat, "Travelers' Tales: Gilded Chapter" will tell humorous tales. Thoma goes back to Mondstadt, Neuvillette travels to Merusea Village, and Dori attempts to negotiate with Sayu in Inazuma. These stories will provide breaks between experiences.
Version 5.7 will provide more optimizations. Based on player progress and preferences, Genshin Impact mobile will have more game resource options. Players can now directly use Fragile Resin to triple Ley Line Blossom and Artifact and Talent Material Domain rewards. Moreover, Shenhe and Raiden Shogun will get new Envisaged Echoes challenges.

Events and Rewards
In Genshin Impact Version 1.7, a new simulation adventure game from Sumeru Akademiya will blend tactical teamwork and luck. Pick Companion Pieces to construct a lineup, power them up, and choose desert or rainforest routes with unique challenges, stories, and unexpected encounters.
Further, players can help Paimon collect fruit for extra buffs throughout the research stages to prepare for the adventure. Complete the event to receive Primogems and more rewards, and invite Sethos to their party.
