August 2, 2025, is a date to remember in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports. Team Liquid PH defeated defending Mid Season Cup champions Selangor Red Giants OG Esports 4-1 in front of a packed STC Esports Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to win the grand finals of MSC at Esports World Cup (EWC).
The first squad to win every major Mobile Legends title, Team Liquid PH, has added another trophy to its list. Further, the all-Filipino team bagged USD 1 million of MSC EWC 2025's enormous USD 3 million prize pool, the joint-highest in Mobile Legends Esports.
The star-studded Team Liquid PH lineup includes international champions and MLBB Professional League (MPL) Philippines victors. They entered MSC 2025 after a 4-3 triumph over defending M6 world champions ONIC PH in the MPL Philippines Season 15 Grand Finals.
Team Liquid PH, a favorite at MSC 2025, went undefeated. As of this writing, they're at the top of the EWC Club Championship ranking with a giant 3,200 points after winning the Mobile Legends division.
KarlTzy, Mobile Legends Esports' face, drives Team Liquid PH's championship run. He eventually won the MSC, completing his Career Grand Slam. He has won Mobile Legends' flagship M Series, MSC 2025, and four MPL Philippines titles.
Sanford was named Grand Finals MVP and received USD 10,000. He appeared in Level Up, an Amazon Prime docuseries about esports competitors' struggles and accomplishments before EWC 2024. Sanford's episode highlighted the prodigy's hardships as the family's breadwinner after his father's stroke last year. He represented the Philippines on the world's biggest esports stage despite pressure.
Meanwhile, SRG.OG became the first team to reach consecutive MSC Grand Finals with their "Never Give Up" spirit after finishing second. Malaysian delegates took home USD 500K. ONIC PH completed the podium after defeating ONIC ID 3-2 in the third-place decider.
