Mobile Legends returns to SEA Games in December 2025

For the fourth time, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will be a Southeast Asian Games esports medal event. Again, MLBB men's and women's categories will be featured in a biennial regional sports event.

Matches are scheduled from December 13 to 17, 2025, MLBB developer Moonton revealed. The official venue is Chulalongkorn University (Sala Phra Kieo) in Bangkok, Thailand.

With the "SEA the Glory" motto, the tournament will unify players and fans, link millions of fans and communities, and make MLBB esports icons.

In the last SEA Games 2023 held in Cambodia, our PH team Sibol men's and women's MLBB teams bagged gold and silver medals, respectively.

In the upcoming 33rd SEA Games, Mobile Legends will again feature former rivalries, redemption arcs, and new stars. Expect iconic battles between podium finishers, including the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Myanmar will also compete to reestablish its legacy.

MLBB at SEA Games 2025 begins with the Group Stage on December 13–14, followed by the intense Knockout Stage on December 15–16 and the Grand Finals on December 17.

Ray Ng, Moonton's head of esports ecosystem, stated:
MLBB's inclusion in the 33rd SEA Games for the fourth time is a testament to its cultural significance and to how MLBB esports has evolved into a recognized and credible sports event and esports title. The addition of a women's category reinforces our ongoing commitment to fostering diversity and inclusivity in esports. We are deeply grateful to the SEA Games committee for this historic recognition, which gives our esports athletes and community a platform to showcase their talent, represent their nations, and SEA the Glory at the podiums.

Santi Lothong, president of the Thai Esports Federation and the Asian Electronic Sports Federation, shared:
Thailand is thrilled to welcome MLBB back to the SEA Games stage. MLBB has become more than just an esports title. It has grown into a unifying platform that brings pride, passion, and purpose to every nation it represents. This year, we look forward to witnessing Southeast Asia's finest MLBB athletes compete, celebrate their national identity, and inspire the next generation of heroes to chase glory.

Since the mobile MOBA game's medal debut in 2019, the Philippines has won every men's MLBB competition. Indonesia, the 2023 women's MLBB tournament's inaugural champion, is determined to defend its championship and extend its tradition.

MLBB has been at the SEAG since 2019. When the Southeast Asian Games Federation added esports as a medal event, the game led the original lineup. The game was also announced as part of the 2026 Asian Games' medal events, solidifying MLBB's position as a professional esports leader with the same enthusiasm and perseverance as traditional sports.

MLBB has topped Google Play and the App Store's Action Game and Overall Game charts in Thailand, this year's host nation, demonstrating its popularity and player engagement.

Meanwhile, Magic Chess: Go Go (MCGG) is also set to debut as a demo sport at the 33rd SEA Games, expanding MOONTON Games' portfolio of competitive game titles and solidifying its role as Southeast Asia's fastest-growing esports ecosystem.

For Pinoy ML players, let us show our unwavering support as fans to our own Philippine team, Sibol, in SEAG 2025. – PinoyTechSaga
