The final season of "My Hero Academia" is declared Anime of the Year during the 2026 Crunchyroll Anime Awards. The storied action-packed, hope-filled superhero fantasy series earned four outstanding wins out of 15 total nominations.
The 10th annual Anime Awards took place at the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa in Tokyo, Japan, on May 23 and were hosted once again by famed entertainer Jon Kabira and versatile voice actress Sally Amaki for the fourth consecutive year.
In addition to the grand prize, "My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON" clinched three other awards: Best Ending Sequence ["I" by BUMP OF CHICKEN], Best Supporting Character [Bakugo Katsuki], and Best Voice Artist Performance (French) [Bastien Bourlé, voices main protagonist Midoriya Izuku].
Besides My Hero Academia (MHA), other notable anime titles that received multiple awards were Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Movie: Infinity Castle (7 wins/8 nominations), The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 (5/17), Gachiakuta (3/16), Dandadan Season 2 (2/20), Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc (2/13), Solo Leveling Season 2 (2/10), and Spy x Family Season 3 (2/9).

Further, seasoned Japanese anime director Tatsuya Nagamine received the Global Impact Award for his work on ONE PIECE, Dragon Ball Super, PreCure!, and Ojamajo Doremi.
Meanwhile, among the presenters of the event were Canadian pop singer The Weeknd (who awarded the Anime of the Year) and Thai K-pop artists Ten and BamBam. The night also featured spectacular music performances from ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION, DEAN FUJIOKA, Yoko Takahashi, and more.
Fans worldwide submitted a new high of 73 million votes for their favorite anime TV shows, films, and actors this year. The USA, Brazil, Germany, India, and Mexico were among the most engaged countries.
