Valorant Patch 13.06 adds new mode, Agent mastery system, more updates

Valorant Patch 13.06 details were revealed by Riot Games via Dev Updates. Expected to release on September 22, 2026, among the highlights of the major update are a new experimental game mode, a new weapon, a new Agent Mastery system, quality-of-life improvements, and competitive progression updates. See more details about these unveiled changes below.

New Mode - "Gauntlet: Glitched"

The new experimental game mode lets players pick from a random pool of abilities to construct a hybrid Robo-Agent.

Eight two-person teams play a tournament-style round robin until one survives. Playstyle-specific abilities are upgraded throughout the match, enabling unique builds every time.

Surprise "glitches" can drastically change familiar abilities, prompting players to experiment.

The new "Gauntlet: Glitch" mode will be released on Patch 13.06 just ahead of the 2026 Valorant Champions Shanghai.

New Weapon - Warden

The new weapon joins Vandal and Phantom. The Warden's stronger Aim Down Sights (ADS) option gives players more buy-round flexibility.

The weapon's enormous damage output makes it ideal for long sightlines with no sniper rifle. Offering another main weapon for varied playstyles expands player choice.

Agent Mastery System

Per Riot Games, the new mastery system replaces Agent Gear and rewards players for playtime and performance, letting them show off their abilities with Agent ID.

Valorant players will now master their favorite Agents through a new playtime and performance system.

Customizable Agent IDs and mastery rewards like icons, borders, portraits, and other cosmetics indicate long-term dedication to the update.

Other Updates

A more visually appealing and intuitive home interface has been implemented.

Players will now have access to the Practice Range while they are in the matchmaking queue.

The console is introduced in New Zealand and Australia.

A new Agent is anticipated to be revealed after the VCT 2026 Shanghai Champions.

Competitive Updates

Competitive progression is getting upgrades to celebrate player achievement, per Riot Games. These include improved methods for tracking their competitive progress and showcasing their achievements.

Further, Valorant is releasing a new Competitive Flex in 2027 that evolves depending on ranked achievements and unlocks upgrades each Act.

Moreover, competitive profile enhancements come in the next patch, and Competitive Rewards commence in the 2027 season.

Just a few days from now, and we'll get to experience the new Gauntlet: Glitched mode. These pure chaos, fast-paced 2v2 battles pit 16 players divided into 8 duos. I am also curious what ping you guys are getting on the Manila server. – PinoyTechSaga
