Wild Rift Patch 7.3 was launched, welcoming three new champions in Hwei, Sylas, and Rek'Sai, along with a brand-new 3v3 game mode, Rift Rumble.
Positioned as a foundational gameplay evolution per Riot Games, this latest update overhauls the mobile MOBA game's core ecosystems and makes build choices more meaningful while also rewarding on-map strategy.
Moreover, the latest update shifts the meta with major ADC buffs – increasing base critical strike damage to 200% and the attack speed cap to 3 – alongside a revamped, farm-focused jungle and a massive turret overhaul featuring permanent plating. See more details about the LoL WR patch 7.3 below.
Marksmen Buffed
Patch 7.3 strengthens the dream of scaling into a devastating basic-attack threat, giving the heavy-hitting ADC "carry" again. Here, base critical strike damage increased from 175 to 200 percent. Further, the Attack Speed cap is now 3 attacks per second, up from 2.5.
As they scale, Riot Games wanted crit marksmen to rely more on basic attacks, making Attack Speed a key factor when picking builds. Ashe, Caitlyn, Draven, Ezreal, Jinx, Kai'Sa, Lucian, Miss Fortune, Samira, Twitch, Vayne, and Zeri now receive targeted changes, making this more than a numerical buff.
To facilitate this major improvement, the item ecosystem was refreshed. Among the new or redesigned items that ADCs can look forward to are Fiendhuler Bolts, Hexoptics, Immortal Shieldbow, Rapid Firecannon, Stormrazor, and Yun Tal Wildarrows. Lifesteal improves basic attacks, on-hit damage, and abilities classified as basic attacks by maintaining strength.
Support players, Wild Rift's backbone for marksmen, have also been revamped. Offensive supports who seek to turn damage into healing may opt for Echoes of Helia. Other items that received major changes are Ardent Censer, Harmonic Echo, and Staff of Flowing Waters.
Major Jungle Gameplay Adjustments
Patch 7.3 shows that winning isn't simply about Wild Rift bouts by making the jungle a more farm-centric and rewarding environment. This update rewards junglers for clearing camps instead of ganking and puts the burden on laners to win their matches.
Junglers' top priority is clearing camps constantly. Effective camp clearing gives Smite additional gold and Ecosystem Protection stacks, allowing it to grow from 600 to 1,000 and ultimately 1,400 true damage. Once Smite is upgraded, it speeds up the capture of epic monsters like Rift Herald, Baron Nashor, and Dragons. The new strategic directive is to gank when it matters, but not sacrifice camp clearing for champion kills.
Additionally, this update makes your jungle your economy. Junglers who clear camps for a while will gain bonus gold and a catch-up mechanic. Protecting, keeping, and farming these camps is crucial now. To fit this new tempo, epic monsters will now scale based on the average match level rather than just increasing in strength.
Massive Turret Revamp
These strategic map updates included a major revamp of turret mechanics. The permanent plate will cover the outer, inner, and inhibitor turrets. A champion's first basic attack can detonate crystals from turrets thanks to the new Crystaline Overgrowth feature.
Teams now approach map control and pushing differently after these structural changes. Patch 7.3 alters turret presence and introduces dynamic new methods to interact with them, forcing players to evaluate lane pressure timing and placement. Thus, turrets must now be monitored and protected.
Winning now takes a coordinated effort to translate advantages into serious objective damage, rewarding teams that tactically rule the map's pace.
3 New Champs: Hwei, Sylas, and Rek'Sai
Hwei, the Visionary, joins Wild Rift on September 22, 2026, to lead Patch 7.3. Hwei, a versatile mid-laner with three abilities, gives the Rift unmatched tactical diversity. Subject: Disaster gives several means to defeat opponents. Subject: Serenity offers many ways to help himself and his supporters. Hwei can handle any task since Subject: Torment terrorizes enemies to different degrees.
Sylas and Rek'Sai also join Hwei as new champions. A seamless stun-to-knock-up combo, Sylas' abduct ability, and Kingslayer healing scaling with missing health make her ideal for powerful bursts. He can fully steal an enemy's ultimate with his iconic ultimate. The powerful team-fight starter Rek'Sai joins the fight. Her rear fin enables her to sense her adversaries no matter where they hide, allowing her to observe their every move before executing the last blow. Her Unburrow skill knocks up nearby enemies.
New Game Modes and Ranked Refinements
Two exhilarating game modes provide new ways to play. Three-player teams fight on a new symmetrical map in Rift Rumble. Simple goal: kill and fight for ultimate stones that can transform your champion's kill structure. Meanwhile, the AAA Realm will vary frequently, including a music-themed season and fresh augment cards to spice up matches.
Patch 7.3 gives competitive Wild Rift players a fairer, specialized S/A and MVP scoring mechanism. The algorithm now ranks players depending on their lane and champion role rather than a single metric. Playing well now earns Ranked energy for high impact. Further, Legendary Ranked is undergoing optimization, which includes the introduction of a new trial format that enables top performers to fast-track directly out of the Legendary Commander Rank and the streamlining of the Seasonal Entry Threshold for past Grand Masters.
Apart from these Patch 7.3 changes, I just want to update you guys on the recent tournament held in the Philippines. The Wild Rounds Pilipinas Open 2026 champions were PEEKABOO (from Split 1), and they'll be representing the country in SMASH 2026. Meanwhile, Creator Showmatch winners are Team Blue (Seoul Searching), comprising Shanghigh, Vannybear, Mirmoooo, Christian Bautista, and Raux. – PinoyTechSaga
