Dota 2's new hero Marci to release fall 2021
Valve Software has announced that Marci, from Netflix animated series DOTA: Dragon’s Blood, will be joining Dota 2’s hero roster this fall 2021.
Marci was unveiled as Dota 2’s new hero during PSG.LGD and Team Secret’s upper bracket final series at The International 10, the game’s biggest tournament.
In DOTA: Dragon’s Blood, Marci is Mirana’s mute bodyguard. While Marci initially seems to be a simple girl, she later reveals considerable strength and unarmed combat prowess.
Marci’s announcement trailer shows an action scene and her in-game model. Though the video trailer doesn’t provide details about her abilities or role, it suggests that she may be a melee brawler, fighting with her fists, in addition to some mysterious power she has yet to use in DOTA Dragon’s Blood.
The trailer ends with a release date, stating, “Marci joins the fight this fall.”
Along with the Marci announcement, Valve has also revealed that the DOTA: Dragon’s Blood Season 2 will be coming on Netflix in January 2022.
The anime series DOTA: Dragon’s Blood premiered on Netflix in March, comprising eight episodes for its first season.
