Malaysia’s Blacklist International has been crowned the Free Fire MCP Majors Season 2 champions after dominating the nerve-racking grand finals held on October 16, 2021 (Saturday). The team secured a spot in the Asia Championship Finals 2021. Meanwhile, the 2nd-4th placed squads will play Asia Championship Play-ins. All top six teams earned a seed for the next season of MCP Majors.
Free Fire MCP (Malaysia, Cambodia, Philippines) Majors Season 2, organized by Garena, is the major esports event in the region, bringing together 18 of the region’s best teams. The tournament featured a massive USD 50,000 (around PHP 2.5 million) prize pool, which began on August 28 and concluded on October 16.
This event featured six matches across three maps, namely Bermuda, Kalahari, and Purgatory.
Tier One-led squad Blacklist International amassed a total of 75 points, earning 46 placement points and 29 kills points. The team scored two BOOYAHs.
Additionally, the runner-up team, Malaysia’s DOEASY, earned two BOOYAHs but lost to Blacklist on placement points. As a result, the team finished second, nine points behind the winner.
Third placer Malaysia’s 4XMEN XPERT scored 39 placement points and 23 kills points, accumulating a total of 62 points.
Philippines’ Supreme Assault Forces came fourth place with 28 placement points and 22 kills points, garnering 50 total points.
Another PH team PXG Radicals, who top the League Stage, finished fifth in the competition.
With Blacklist’s victory, they took home USD 15,800 (around PHP 800K), the largest share from the USD 50,000 total prize pool.
Other MY teams DOEASY and 4XMEN XPERT bagged USD 7,600 (~PHP 380K) and USD 4,000 (~PHP 200K), respectively.
PH squad Supreme Assault Forces (SAF) earned USD 3,800 (around PHP 192K).
Blacklist International is a Philippine-based esports organization led by Tier One Entertainment. They entered Free Fire in March 2021 by acquiring the Baby Argon lineup.
