Filipino teams PXG Radicals and Supreme Assault Forces have emerged as the top teams following a six-week-long battle at the League Circuit of the Free Fire MCP (Malaysia, Cambodia, the Philippines) Majors S2.
PXG Radicals took the top spot, with Supreme Assault Forces taking second place, followed by Malaysian team Tactical Intex in the third spot.
The top 12 squads will advance to the Grand Finals on October 16 and compete for a share of the USD 50,000 (around PHP 2.5 million) prize pool. The top four teams from the Grand Finals will qualify for the Free Fire Asia Championship 2021, taking place in November.
With PXG Radicals and Supreme Assault Forces achievements, they made local history. Two PH teams topped the rankings and secured the top two spots in the Free Fire MCP League Stage.
PXG Radical and Supreme Assault Force discussed their experiences leading up to the League Stage of the Free Fire MCP and what it was like competing against another Philippines-based squad.
“They’re really good,” said Paul Brent “Insanity” Tolentino of PXG Radicals in an interview. He also commented that it would be an achievement to defeat Supreme Assault Forces.
Supreme Assault Forces (SAF) member Kenneth “Forbids” Gavio noted that the team’s success thus far had been their goal all along.
“We’re very happy we did it because that’s our dream,” said Forbids.
