Michaeleans won PUBG Mobile Campus Championship 2021
Michaeleans of Saint Michael’s College of Laguna dominated 16 teams from different universities in the Philippines in the grand finals of the PUBG Mobile Campus Championship 2021 on November 28 (Sunday).
After securing two ‘winner winner chicken dinners’ and 173 total points during the grueling two-day grand finals, Michaeleans will represent the Philippines in the PUBG Mobile Campus Championship Southeast Asia 2021, which will take place from December 4-5.
Other squads that earn a spot for the regional tournament are the tournament’s second and third-place finishers, the University of the Cordillera’s Top Gunz UC, and the University of Northern Philippines’ UNP Sharks.
Michaeleans won PHP 175,000 in cash prizes, while runner-ups Top Gunz UC earned PHP 100,000 and third-placers UNP Sharks took home PHP 75,000.
The PH representatives will compete for supremacy against collegiate PUBG Mobile teams from Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
The entire prize pool for the PUBG Mobile Campus Championship Southeast Asia 2021 will be USD 10,000.
Moreover, it already established a loyal fan base in the Philippines due to the success of its inaugural national championship event last year.
For the uninitiated, PUBG Mobile or PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile is a free-to-play mobile battle royale game in which players must scavenge for items and weapons to eliminate other players while avoiding being killed themselves. The available safe zone on the game’s map gradually shrinks in size. Ultimately, the last player or team standing wins the round.
