Globe Prepaid eSIM coming this September 2023

Globe Telecom announced that its digital-only eSIM will be available by the end of September. Check out more details below.

According to Globe, it is introducing the fully digital eSIM experience to its users. This revolutionary service eliminates the need for physical SIM cards, making mobile service activation and management as easy as tapping a screen.

Globe's prepaid eSIM will be available by the end of this month, which demonstrates the telco's commitment to providing innovative technological solutions that cater to user needs.

The eSIM will only be available through the GlobeOne app, emphasizing Globe's commitment to a streamlined user experience.

Purchasing an eSIM through the GlobeOne app will be a hassle-free experience:
  • Users can easily download the app via Google Play, Apple App Store, or Huawei AppGallery
  • Set up a GlobeOne account
  • Request for a new eSIM

This change to a digital-only model ensures that Globe's customers are not inconvenienced by store visits or physical SIM delivery, making the transition to eSIM more sustainable and efficient.

Darius Delgado, Head of Globe's Consumer Mobile Business, said:
At Globe, we're always looking ahead, anticipating the needs of our customers in an ever-evolving digital landscape. The prepaid eSIM captures our vision of a seamless, digital-first mobile experience, marrying innovation with convenience.

The eSIM's benefits extend beyond its digital nature, enabling users to install multiple eSIMs on selected devices and use two phone numbers simultaneously.

The eSIM technology enables seamless connection under one mobile number in various devices, such as smartwatches, other than mobile phones. The Apple Watch cellular is one of the devices that uses this technology, making it possible for Globe Prepaid iPhone users to stay connected even without their iPhones. This means that they can go out with just their Apple Watch and still be able to make calls and send messages.

The introduction of prepaid eSIM technology has a significant positive impact on the environment. By digitizing the SIM process, eSIM eliminates the need for plastic and logistics required for creating a physical SIM, thereby reducing carbon emissions.
