The third major telco DITO Telecommunity has revealed that it aims to roll out broadband internet services in early 2022.
In an ABS-CBN News report, DITO CME Holdings Corp. chief financial officer Joseph John Ong said that the company would become a “full service telco” once their network build is complete.
According to Ong, besides their prepaid services, the telco plans to provide postpaid services next year.
In September 2021, DITO Telecommunity, which tapped China Telecom for its facilities, passed its second-year technical audit. It achieved 52.75% of national population coverage with an average speed of 89.13 Mbps and 853.96 Mbps for its 4G and 5G wireless networks.
For the unaware, the DITO consortium consists of Dennis Uy’s Udenna Corporation, Udenna’s subsidiary Chelsea Logistics Holdings Inc., and China Telecommunications Corporation, a Chinese state-owned firm. Initially, it was called Mislatel.
