Game developer miHoYo has revealed that the Genshin Impact version 2.4 update is set to release on January 5, 2022. The latest Genshin Impact 2.4 patch, dubbed “Fleeting Colors in Flight,” includes new playable characters, a new area, a new boss, and several events with rich rewards like a chance to obtain a 4-star character. Redeem codes for free Primogems were also revealed during the live stream event for the Genshin Impact 2.4 update.
New characters: Shenhe and Yun Jin
The latest update comprises two new playable characters that can be reliable supports, namely Shenhe and Yun Jin.
Shenhe, the new five-star character, wields the power of Cryo and amplifies the damage dealt by her Cryo-based teammates. Additionally, her Elemental Skill can increase the damage dealt by nearby party members’ Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst abilities, as well as their Normal, Plunging, and Charged Attack.
Yun Jin, the new four-star character, possesses a Geo Vision, and she can boost her teammates’ Normal Attacks based on her Defense and the multitude of Visions in the player’s party.
New area: Enkanomiya
Unlike the other islands in Inazuma, the new area Enkanomiya is a massive submerged island that the Abyss constantly erodes. Watatsumi Island’s ancestors once lived there, leaving behind ruins of an ancient civilization that predated any other relics discovered on land.
Players must devise a method of utilizing Dainichi Mikoshi, the ancient civilization’s artificial sun, as they explore the puzzles and depths of Enkanomiya.
New Enemies: Bathysmal Vishaps and Abyss Lector – Fathomless Flames
Bathysmal Vishaps are cunning social predators that live in the dark waters of Enkanomiya.
They can hunt in packs and take advantage of their surroundings in combat.
Meanwhile, the Abyss Lector: Fathomless Flames can unleash Pyro attacks that deal delayed bursts of damage regardless of whether characters are shielded or not.

Genshin Impact has another event where you can choose one free 4-star character to add to your collection. Here are the free 4-star characters you can choose from the Preposterous Partnerships event, which will arrive later in patch 2.4:

Liyue Harbor will once again be brimming with games, stalls, vendors, and a variety of other festivities in honor of the Lantern Rite. Additionally, the Traveler can assist Ningguang, and the locals in rebuilding the Jade Chamber this year.
Meanwhile, the latest seasonal events offer numerous rewards, including ten (10) Intertwined Fates and Ningguang’s new outfit, Orchid’s Evening Gown. Keqing’s new skin Opulent Splendor will also be discounted for a limited time.
There is also a web event dubbed “Enchanting Journey of Snow and Stars,” offering different rewards, which will begin on December 29, 2021.
