NetEase Games has unveiled the first look at its upcoming survival game “Once Human” at IGN’s Summer of Gaming and announced to kick off a closed beta test (CBT) in September 2022.
Aired on June 11, 2022, the showcase featured an in-depth look at the new PC title for the first time, revealing a new trailer and gameplay footage showing off the game’s striking art style.
Once Human depicts a grim, post-apocalyptic future in which the opening of a mysterious door has unleashed Stardust, spawning spine-chilling monsters and warping the world beyond recognition. Upon consuming this Stardust, players of Once Human transform into Beyonders, gaining special abilities to aid them in surviving the horrors that have taken over. In order to survive, players will be required to scavenge for resources, establish a home base, and battle a horrifying assortment of monsters.
During IGN’s Summer of Gaming, players were given their first look at some of the monstrous aberrant monsters they’ll face in Once Human. Creatures and beings, twisted by the Stardust pollution that has seeped into the world, infest the land, waiting to thwart the survival efforts of players.
Players can choose between PvE and PvP in Once Human. The showcase provided an in-depth look at each mode for the first time. In PvE mode, players are able to freely explore the perilous world and engage the terrifying monsters they encounter. In PvP mode, players can team up with other players to defeat enemy strongholds and loot them for resources. This mode is available to players who wish to cooperate with others.
Whether playing in PvE or PvP mode, players will be able to set up a home base and use their gathered resources to upgrade their weapons, equipment, and vehicles to increase their odds against the overwhelming odds they face.
Once Human starts its Closed Beta Test in September 2022. Pre-registration is now open on the official Once Human website (http://oncehuman.game/).
