A clash in the lord at the 10-minute mark of Game 1 paved the way for RRQ Hoshi to turn the tables and eventually win the match in under 20 minutes with an 18-14 kill advantage against RSG PH, leading the best-of-five series, 1-0.
In Game 2, the Indonesian team displayed superb mechanical skills, stealing the lord in the 9th minute and almost wiping out the Filipino squad in the 17th-minute lord fight to reach match point, 2-0.
With their backs against the wall, RSG PH played aggressively and took the early game, beginning with Demonkite’s (Karina) double kill in the fourth-minute turtle fight, then relying on Light’s (Franco) precision Iron Hooks. The Filipino team ended Game 3 with a landslide 21-5 kill score at the 17-minute mark to force Game 4.
In Game 4, Demonkite’s Julian stole the Evolved Lord at the 20-minute mark to keep RSG PH alive, but RRQ Hoshi was able to rally and win the series in the 25th minute.
With the defeat, a bid for a Filipino versus Filipino grand finals matchup is no longer possible.
RSG PH will move to the lower bracket finals, where they will face the winner between reigning MSC champs Omega Esports and underdogs Falcon Esports in the lower bracket semis match Saturday for another shot at the Grand Finals on Sunday.
