Blizzard Entertainment has officially announced that Overwatch 2 is now live and free to play worldwide, including the Philippines, with cross-platform play and progression for all players on Windows PC via Battle.net, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch consoles.
According to Blizzard, Overwatch 2 will receive substantial seasonal updates, with new heroes, maps, game modes, cosmetics, and more released at a regular cadence. These updates will set the stage for future years.
Overwatch 2 Overview
Log in and play as the recently revealed support hero Kiriko, a ferocious protector with a golden heart. She joins tank hero Junker Queen and damage hero Sojourn as three game-altering women, bringing the total number of playable heroes to 35.
Updated hero appearances, reworked hero ability kits, a new 5v5 multiplayer format, six new maps, the Push game mode, a new ping system, a redesigned competitive mode, and more went live today, all of which can be experienced with updated graphics and audio engines. With over 40,000 new voice lines added to the game, the diverse cast of characters has never felt more alive.
Overwatch 2 launches today with a brand-new item shop that replaces the Loot Box system, a free Battle Pass for all players, and a Premium Battle Pass for each season that can be purchased separately. After the first two seasons, both versions of the Battle Pass will add new heroes on a periodic basis, enhancing the Overwatch 2 experience for all players.
Unlocking in-game skins and other content, the Premium Battle Pass costs 1,000 Overwatch Coins per season (equivalent to USD 10) and provides instant access when new heroes are added, in addition to other perks. Each season, all players will have the opportunity to earn free Overwatch Coins through in-game challenges, which can be used to purchase a Premium Battle Pass or other shop items.

Season One contains cyberpunk-themed items for both the free and paid Battle Pass tracks, including skins, emotes, victory poses, highlight intros, player icons, weapon charms, sprays, and voice lines. The Season One Premium Battle Pass contains Genji's first-ever Mythic skin, a customizable skin tier that is new to Overwatch 2.
Overwatch 2 Future Updates
The second season will feature an unannounced tank hero and a new map. Each season will feature a unique theme and brand-new collectibles that players can use to customize and personalize their Overwatch 2 experience. Seasons will cycle every nine weeks.
