The Philippines' internet rank has increased 4 spots in mobile download speeds and dropped 8 positions in fixed broadband speeds, as per Ookla's Speedtest Global Index for October 2022.

The country ranked 81st globally in the Mobile category, recording an average median download speed of 22.98 Mbps. The mobile upload speed was registered at 5.53 Mbps, and the average latency was 23 ms. This record shows a very slight gain in download speed compared to the 22.54 Mbps of the September charts.

On the other hand, in the Fixed Broadband category, the Philippines placed 54th, posting an average of 71.70 Mbps median download speed. The average upload speed and latency were recorded at 68.98 Mbps and 6 ms, respectively. Compared to the previous month's results, which listed average download and upload speeds of 78.69 Mbps and 74.91 Mbps, respectively, both metrics have notably decreased.

Philippines ranks 81st in mobile and 54th in fixed broadband, according to the October 2022 data of the Ookla Speedtest Global Index.

In terms of global median speeds in October 2022, the average download speed for mobile is 33.43 Mbps, while fixed broadband is 72.40 Mbps.

The United Arab Emirates secured the top spot in the mobile internet speed charts worldwide, recording an average speed of 138.82 Mbps. Meanwhile, Singapore ranked first in the fixed broadband category, with an average of 219.57 Mbps download speeds.

The Speedtest Global Index for October 2022 includes 141 countries for Mobile and 180 for Fixed Broadband.

Ookla cited that Speedtest Global Index results are based on the median download speed to better accurately reflect the internet speeds a user is possible to achieve in a given market.
