'One Piece' live-action set to debut on Netflix in 2023

"One Piece" live-action is set to premiere in 2023, as announced by video streaming platform Netflix.

In a Facebook post, Netflix Philippines released a poster of the highly anticipated live-action series of Eiichiro Oda's One Piece manga, which read: "Setting sail 2023."

In the image, Luffy, the main character of manga and anime, is depicted with his fist raised in the air as he gazes out to sea as the sun sets on the horizon.

In January 2020, Netflix announced that it would produce a 10-episode live-action adaptation of "One Piece."

The manga's author, Eiichiro Oda, is one of the show's executive producers.

The main cast of the One Piece live-action series includes Iñaki Godoy (as Monkey D. Luffy), Emily Rudd (as Nami), and Jacob Romero Gibson (as Usopp).

Since 1997, "One Piece" has been serialized as a manga, making it one of the longest-running manga series in existence. In 1999, an anime with the same name was produced.

The story focuses on the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a boy whose body acquired rubber-like properties after unintentionally consuming a Devil Fruit. Luffy searches the Grand Line with his pirate crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, for "One Piece," the ultimate treasure of the late King of the Pirates, Gol D. Roger, in order to become the next King of the Pirates.
