Garena Free Fire kicks off its 2023 esports season with the MCPS Majors Season 5, held from February 26 to April 15, where teams from Malaysia, Cambodia, the Philippines, and Sri Lanka, will compete to win a piece of the USD 50,000 (around PHP 2.7 million) prize pool.
Registrations for the first qualifying stage of the tournament will take place from February 24 to 25.
The new season also aims to rally players and fans alike to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship in Free Fire esports with its new slogan – #UnitedWeFight.
Free Fire MCPS Majors Season 5 Overview
Similar to previous seasons, MCPS Majors Season 5 will comprise four stages: In-game Qualifiers, the Qualifier Finals, the League Circuit, and the Grand Finals.
Participants from all over the MCPS region will compete in the In-Game Qualifiers for 18 spots to move to the next stage. Six professional teams who placed 7th to 12th in the MCPS Majors Season 4 will be directly invited to join these top 18 teams in the Qualifier Finals. Then, the top 11 teams from the Qualifier Finals will move to the 3-week League Circuit alongside the top 6 squads from MCPS Season 4 to vie for 12 spots in the Grand Finals. The In-game Qualifiers will take place on February 26, 2023, from 1 PM to 6 PM (GMT+8). Registrations for this stage will open from February 24 at 12 AM to February 25 at 11:59 PM for all eligible Free Fire players.
Participants must be at least level 20 and have a Diamond Rank in Battle Royale mode to participate.
