Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi modem is locked to the Globe network. So, you can only use Globe Prepaid, TM, and GOMO SIM cards. You can't use Smart, TNT, Sun, or DITO SIM cards. This is a hassle, especially when the signal coverage of Globe is weak in your area and you need to use a different SIM in your Home Prepaid WiFi kit. Or your internet data promo has ended, and you want to switch to another SIM card with mobile data allocation.
Whatever your reason is, Globe Prepaid WiFi is of great help when you can insert any SIM, an advantage when using internet tools like VPN or HTTP Injector for anonymity or free internet. A 4G LTE WiFi modem which is not locked to a specific network is usually called a 4G LTE WiFi modem openline.
Globe Telecom has various models of 4G LTE modems, such as Huawei B312-939 and B535-932, which are network-locked. Fortunately, these Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi models can be unlocked in a few easy steps, so you don't have to worry about buying a new modem.
You can unlock or openline your Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi by following this guide. Note that this tutorial applies to modems that require SIM Lock Code, like Huawei B312-939 and B535-932. Moreover, this unlocking and admin access procedure is recommended only for Globe Prepaid WiFi users who are already out of warranty, as there's a step requiring removing the warranty sticker and inserting another SIM, which will void the device warranty.
How to Unlock/Openline Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi for Free
Here are the steps on how you can permanently unlock your Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi modem at no cost.
Steps for requesting SIM Lock Code:
1. Log in to your Facebook account and go to the official Globe Telecom page (https://ift.tt/d2EKrct). Click the "Send message" button and chat with a customer service agent. They might ask for your contact information, such as your mobile number, email address and name.
2. Tell the agent that you want your Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi modem to be unlocked and that you need the SIM Lock Code and admin account login credentials (username and password) for the process. In case they refuse to acknowledge your modem unlock request or are just unaware, then you can send the screenshot of the NTC memorandum Circular 01-05-2019, also known as Mandatory Unlocking of Mobile Phones and Devices After Lock-In Period and Compliance with Terms and Conditions Contained in Subscription Agreements.
3. If the agent is knowledgeable of the unlocking process, they will ask for your modem's IMEI, Serial Number and SIM Card Number (if applicable). You can see your device's IMEI and Serial Number by opening its back cover. Send these details to Globe and wait for 3 to 5 working days before they send you the SIM Lock Code and the admin login account for your modem. Do not share these important details with anyone else because they are only for your device.
Steps for unlocking your Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi modem:
