Vision control is vital in Mobile Legends because it provides crucial information that allows players to make informed decisions and gain an advantage over their opponents. Properly strategizing your vision will help your team to win the match.
In this guide by the official Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, you'll learn everything you need to know about providing your team with vision, from the introduction of vision control to extra tips for opening vision.
Introduction to Vision
Vision refers to knowing the position of the enemy on the minimap.
Why Do We Need Vision in Game?
By mastering vision, you can automatically master the entire map and can control a match.
Proper vision helps players make calculated decisions and proper rotations, such as:
- Knowing the enemy's position
- Prevent getting ganked
- Making traps
- Split Push safely
- Make a plan to initiate a team fight
When you have no vision, you can easily get ambushed.
How Vision Works
- Enemy units that are visible to any teammate or turret will be displayed on the minimap.
- Visibility when approaching allied/enemy towers.
- The vision range is the same for all heroes. However, vision can be extended with certain skills and methods.
Location for Bush Checking
1. Ganking/setting up a team fight against enemy sidelaner
- Invade the enemy's jungle
- Entry spot to do split push
- Opening map for sidelaner
- Spot for vision control when taking Lord/Turtle
2. Map control when taking Lord/Turtle
- Harass/stealing enemy's blue buff
- Invade the enemy's jungle
- Gank the enemy who will roam to the side lane
- Entry route to stealing Lord/Turtle
3. Blocking the entrance to the Lord/Turtle pit
- Gank enemies who are going to the side/mid lane.
- Great spot for initiating a team fight when taking Lord/Turtle
4. Ganking enemy in the mid lane
- Path to push the mid lane turret
5. Invade enemy jungle
- Entry route to the Lord/Turtle pit
- Harass/stealing enemy red buffs
- Route for split push or dive turret
- Ganking the enemy in the inner/inhibitor turret
Rotation to Open Vision
- Roamer must be 2 steps ahead of the team when rotating
- Make sure you are in sync with the roamer
- Use the minimap to ping allies to check suspicious bushes
- And if your checking a bush, make sure allies are nearby
Early Game
Roamer should open a vision near the bushes around the gold laner to ensure that the team's gold laner is not in danger.
Mid Game
In the mid game, the bush around the Lord/Turtle must be controlled to get more information.
Late Game
When Attacking – Pay attention and watch out for the following bushes because those spots are commonly used for initiating a team fight.
When Defending – Beware of similar bushes on your side of the map.
How safe is it to check bushes?
- Early Game - No harm in bush checking as heroes lack damage
- Mid-game - Be careful when bush-checking; you can be killed if outnumbered
- Late Game - Be very careful and have a team present for bush checking, as enemies have most items to deal high damage within seconds
Types of Heroes that Should and Shouldn't Open Vision
- Should
- Tanks and tanky fighters can bush check
- Support and mages with long-range skills
- Shouldn't
- Squishy heroes
- Heroes with no dash/blink. Mages, marksmen, and assassins should mostly avoid random bush checking
Heroes/Skills That Can Open Vision
Heroes/Skills That Can't Open Vision But Still Get Hint of Enemy Presence
Extra Tips for Opening Vision
Jungle Creeps
- Jungle creeps have a vision of all units within their range, even if invisible or in bushes.
- Long-range basic attack can be used to reveal if a hidden enemy is present. If the jungle creep moves away from you, an enemy is probably hiding.
Lord
- If the enemy is attacking the lord and no ally is nearby, you will hear a sound and see a glowing icon at the lord's location.
Magic sentry
- Use magic sentry to reveal gain vision.
Litowanderer
- Upon kiting, a small critter will roam patrol around the area, revealing any enemies that enter its range.
- Yellow eye indicates your position is visible to the enemy.
