Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro, ZTE's gaming brand's latest flagship gaming smartphone, is now available in the Philippines. Check out its specs, features, and price.
Red Magic 8 Pro comes in a "sci-fi-inspired design" with two back panel styles: Matte (textured black) and Void (translucent).
For the display, the gaming phone has a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution, 10-bit color, and a 960Hz touch sampling rate. The front panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Powering ZTE Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro is a 3.2GHz 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 octa-core processor integrated with Adreno 740 GPU. The platform is paired with 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.0 non-expandable storage. It runs on the Android 13 OS with REDMAGIC OS 6.0 skin on top.
Moreover, it packs a large 6,000mAh battery with support for USB-C 65W fast charger. It has an 8C design (eight different cells for heat management).
When it comes to cameras, the device has a 50-megapixel 1/1.57-inch Samsung GN5 sensor, an 8-megapixel 120-degree ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro lens.
Meanwhile, the 16-megapixel selfie camera uses under-display technology, eliminating the need for a notch on the gaming smartphone.
The notable gaming feature is the Red Core 2 gaming chip for better gaming effects, such as improved shoulder keys, haptic vibration feedback, touch sensitivity, RGB lighting effects, and enhanced sound details.
In addition, there are two touch-based shoulder triggers that run at a 520Hz sampling rate. It also has dual X-axis linear motors.
For the heat dissipation system, Red Magic 8 Pro features the ICE 11.0 Multi-Dimensional Cooling System, which comes with multiple layers of graphite sheets and a 3D vapor chamber (VC) with a 2,068 cubic millimeter volume. The side fan operates at 20,000 rpm, and a graphite sheet protects the entire display. The fan has been redesigned to increase airflow and reduce noise.
Regarding audio, the phone is equipped with stereo speakers (1115K + 1216 ultra-linear) and Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound technology for up to 96kHz output with 48ms low latency. Additionally, it has Dual Smart PA, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and 3 microphones.
For connectivity, it has 5G SA/NSA, 4G LTE, dual SIM slots, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS (L1 + L5), and GLONASS.
