Globe receives 3 Opensignal awards in Barcelona

Globe Telecom formally received three awards from Opensignal at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on March 1, 2023.

These recognitions include Mobile Experience Awards for 5G Video Experience, 5G Upload Speed and Core Consistent Quality.

President and CEO Ernest Cu, Chief Transformation and Customer Experience Officer Rebecca Eclipse, Senior Vice President and Head of Network Planning and Engineering Joel Agustin, and Chief Technical Advisor Yoke Kong Seow received the award in Barcelona from Opensignal's President for Market Impact Barry Graham.

Globe received the highest rating among Philippine telecommunications providers for mobile video streaming over 5G in Opensignal's Philippines Mobile Network Experience Report for October 2022, with a score of 73.5.

Moreover, the telco was recognized for having the nation's fastest 5G upload speed with a score of 12.8 Mbps, outpacing the competition by 1.4 Mbps.

Globe also won the award for Core Consistent Quality with a score of 76.9%, besting competitors with scores of 76.4 percent and 75.6 percent. Core Consistent Quality measures the frequency with which users' network experiences were adequate to support common application requirements.

Globe was also named a joint winner for 5G Voice App Experience and 5G Games Experience in the same report. In Calabarzon and Metro Manila, Globe was the sole winner in both categories.

Globe's 5G performance, consistency, and reliability, as well as its sustainability and good governance practices, have been consistently cited by multiple global analytics firms.
