Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Series now has BP and ECG features

Galaxy Watch5 Series now has BP and ECG features, announced Samsung Philippines. Users can now monitor their blood pressure and heart rate.

With the latest update, you can easily monitor these key health indicators through the Samsung BioActive sensor on the Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro.

Here's how you can monitor your blood pressure and heart rate with the Galaxy Watch5 Series

To use the blood pressure (BP) monitoring feature, you need to install the Samsung Health Monitor app on your Galaxy phone, connect it to a compatible Galaxy Watch, and calibrate it with a traditional cuff. They will then be able to tap anywhere and at any time to "measure" the blood pressure.

Moreover, the Galaxy Watch5 measures blood pressure by analyzing pulse waves, which are tracked by the Heart Rate Monitoring sensors. The program then logs the relationship between the calibration value and the change in blood pressure to calculate blood pressure. Users can access this information and export measurements to PDF files following the completion of the calibration and configuration processes.

On the other hand, the electrocardiogram (ECG) function records the electrical activity of the heart using a sensor on a compatible Galaxy Watch. Simply launch the Samsung Health Monitor app while seated comfortably and ensure the watch is securely fastened to your wrist. Then, rest your forearm on a flat surface and place the fingertip of the opposite hand on the smartwatch's top button for 30 seconds.

The Samsung Health Monitor app will then determine your heart rate and rhythm, which will be displayed as Sinus Rhythm (a normal, regular heartbeat) or AFib (when the heart beats irregularly). This data can also be exported to PDF.

In addition to blood pressure and electrocardiogram monitoring, the Galaxy Watch5 Series has improved sleep-tracking technology. Plan your bedtime, detect snoring, understand and track your sleep stages (awake, light, deep REM) with the help of eight animal sleep symbols representing your sleep type, and receive nightly sleep reports so that you can rest easy.

The Galaxy Watch5 Series counts your steps, calories, and routines for fitness tracking. It also supports more than 90 exercises that can be tracked from the watch. And if you're a fitness enthusiast in need of a watch that can keep up with your outdoor activities, consider the Watch5 Pro, which includes GPS route tracking guides that provide cyclists and hikers with turn-by-turn directions.

Durable and Stylish

The Galaxy Watch5 series offers its most durable and powerful performance to date. Its battery is 15% larger and charges 20% faster; it only takes 30 minutes to charge from 0% to 45%. The Galaxy Watch5 Pro has the largest battery capacity of Samsung's wearable product line, lasting 24 hours even with continuous GPS use and 80 hours in standby mode.

Additionally, the Galaxy Watch5 series was created with durability in mind. Both are water-resistant and constructed from premium Sapphire crystal to withstand impact. Even the Watch5 Pro has a titanium body case.

And in terms of fashion, the Galaxy Watch5 Series makes staying fit fashionable. The 40mm Galaxy Watch5 is available in Composite Gray, Iconic Gold, and Silver, with straps in Gray, Pink Gold, and Lavender. The 44mm Galaxy Watch5 is available in Composite Gray, Navy Blue, and Silver, with straps in Gray, New Blue, and White.
