Echo Proud emerged as champions in the MDL Philippines Season 1 after defeating GameLab Alpha, 3-1, in the grand finals on April 23, 2023.
Echo Proud is the MDL PH counterpart of the reigning Mobile Legends World Champions, Echo, in MPL PH.
Prior to finals, Echo Proud dominated Group B in the regular season, earning them a slot straight to the semi-finals, where they swept Bren Euphoria Esports. Meanwhile, GameLab also led Group A and beat Blacklist Academy in the semi-finals.
Jaypee "Jaypee" Dela Cruz was named the grand finals MVP, showing his superb skills and performance throughout the entire best-of-five series. He was part of the M4 World Championship roster of Echo PH before playing in MDL and even got two MPL-PH championship titles under the Sunsparks banner.
With their win, Echo Proud took home the largest share of USD 4,550 (around PHP 254K) out of the tournament's USD 20,000 prize pool.
Runners-up GameLab, on the other hand, earned USD 3,550 (roughly 198K).
