How to activate roaming service on Smart Postpaid?

Step 1

Call *888 to check if your roaming service is already activated or to activate it.

Roaming is automatically activated for Signature and Infinity plans.

Step 2

Pre-book a data roaming pack. Open your web browser and go to gigaroam.smart.com.ph.

How to activate roaming service on Smart Prepaid and TNT?

Step 1

Text ROAM ON to 333 at least 1 hour before leaving the Philippines to activate your service. Have a minimum balance of P100.

Text ROAM OFF to 333 upon returning to the Philippines to avail of local prepaid promos. See Smart Prepaid Promos and TNT Promos.

Step 2

Pre-book a data roaming pack. Open your web browser and go to gigaroam.smart.com.ph.

Smart recommends users check their roaming service before they travel. To check and activate the service, please follow the instructions below.
  • For Prepaid, visit https://ift.tt/KmRXWh7, dial *133# and select Check My Roaming or text Roam On to 333.

It could be for any of these reasons. It is possible that your roaming service is not active, or there may be a problem with your account. I still have no 5G/4G/LTE signal after turning on my mobile data and data roaming.

There is a chance that your data roaming service is not active. Perform a phone restart. Turn your phone off and wait for at least 2 minutes. Turn it back on and wait for the 5G/4G/LTE signal to appear. Sometimes it takes a while.

It did not work? It's possible your service is not active for data roaming. Call Smart's TOLL-FREE hotline at +63 2 8848 8878.

Do I need to deactivate my roaming service when I return to the Philippines?

Smart Prepaid users need to text ROAM OFF to 333 to restore local calls, SMS and data services. There is no need for the deactivation of roaming for Smart Postpaid users.

Will I get charged for leaving my data roaming connection On?

Not at all. You will only get charged when you subscribe to a data roaming plan. When subscribed, any data roaming usage shall be deducted from your plan allocation. If you have fully consumed your allocation, data roaming services will not be available.

You can get charged on your mobile account if you do the following while roaming:
  • Send a text message.
  • Make and receive calls.
  • Subscribe to data roaming plans (GigaRoam) using the website (gigaroam.smart.com.ph).

My flight got moved. What will happen to the data plan I subscribed to while still here in the Phillippines?

Your data roaming plan is secure. The validity of your plan starts the moment our network detects you are at your destination. Upon arrival, turn on Mobile Data and Data Roaming, and you will receive a notification that the plan you bought has been activated. That's when the validity period starts.

I do not have FREE WIFI abroad. How do I access gigaroam.smart.com.ph when abroad?

Access to the site when abroad is FREE. Simply turn off WIFI and turn on mobile data and data roaming, then go to gigaroam.smart.com.ph.
