Echo wins MPL PH S11 title with clean sweep vs Blacklist

Echo hailed MPL Philippines Season 11 champions after dethroning Blacklist International with a clean 4-0 sweep in their Grand Finals match at the SMX Convention Center.

This is Echo's first MPL PH title and another sweep of Blacklist, mirroring their M4 World Championship grand finals performance.

The key to Echo's victory was their hyper-aggressive play against Tier One-led Blacklist in all the games, ultimately winning the best-of-seven series via a 4-0 sweep.

With their win, Echo PH bagged the largest share of USD 45,060 (~PHP 2.4 million) from the tournament's USD 150,000 (~PHP 8.3 million) total prize pool.

Meanwhile, defending champions Blacklist International finished in second place, failing to clinch back-to-back titles. The Tier One-led squad bagged USD 28,560 (~PHP 1.5 million) in consolation.

Echo and Blacklist International, being the top two of the league, will represent MPL Philippines in the MLBB Southeast Asian Cup (MSC) 2023, which will be held in Cambodia in June 2023.

In the regular season, Echo ended as the second seed. However, they dropped to the lower bracket after losing to RSG Slate Philippines in the upper bracket semifinals. Then, they had to defeat Bren Esports to keep their playoff campaign. In the lower bracket finals, Echo took down RSG in their rematch.
