PH Sibol Crossfire team nabs bronze in SEA Games 2023

Sibol Crossfire squad settled for a bronze medal in the esports category of SEA Games 2023 after a 1-2 loss to Vietnam in the best-of-3 semifinals.

Prior to this match, the Philippine representatives went undefeated with their best-of-1 matches against Laos and Cambodia.

Sibol Crossfire team for the 32nd Southeast Asian Games, represented by Pacific Macta Infirma, is composed of John Kenneth Alde, Christian Amores, Matthew Arnaez, Justine Reige Perez, Aldrin Paul Borabon, and Arthur Gabrielle Tecson. Their coach is Braden Francis Catangay.

To recall, Vietnam took home the gold medal at the 31st Southeast Asian Games for the Crossfire tournament. Meanwhile, the Sibol Crossfire team, also bannered by Pacific Macta Infirma, bagged the silver medal.

For those uninformed, SEA Games 2023 is hosted by Cambodia. It is the third time esports (electronic sports) has been contested as an official medal event at the biennial regional multi-sport event.

Moreover, Cambodia hosted the SEAG for the first time, and Crossfire (PC first-person shooter game by Smilegate) made its second appearance at the Southeast Asian Games.
