Despite higher latency, Starlink's excellent download speeds and expanding coverage make it appealing to users throughout the country.

For avid gamers, however, latency is vital. Game responsiveness and precision depend on low ping. A player's computer sends data to the game server and receives a response in milliseconds. Low ping speeds up data transfer, reducing the time between a player's actions and the server's response. This improves gameplay, reaction times, and online gaming competitiveness. However, high ping can cause lag, stuttering, and input delay, which can ruin gameplay. Thus, low ping is essential for smooth gaming.
