PH mobile download speed at 25.88 Mbps: Ookla July 2023

The Speedtest Global Index report for July 2023 has been released by Ookla, indicating that the Philippines' internet rank has moved two spots down in Fixed Broadband and decreased four positions in Mobile.

The country ranked 49th globally in the Fixed Broadband category, recording an average median download speed of 91.56 Mbps. The average upload speed was recorded at 91.24 Mbps, and the average latency was 6 ms.

In the Mobile category, the Philippines ranked 89th, listing an average of 25.88 Mbps download speed. The average upload speed and latency were registered at 6.15 Mbps and 23 ms, respectively.

Compared to the June 2023 charts, the performance of the internet in the country sees almost no improvement.

Philippines ranks 89th in mobile and 49th in fixed broadband, according to the July 2023 data of the Ookla Speedtest Global Index.

Regarding global median speeds, the average download speed for Fixed Broadband is 82.56 Mbps, while the average for Mobile is 42.35 Mbps.

United Arab Emirates (UAE) topped the mobile internet speed charts worldwide, registering an average speed of 205.77 Mbps. Meanwhile, Singapore dominated the fixed broadband category, with an average of 247.44 Mbps download speeds.

The Speedtest Global Index for July 2023 includes 143 countries for Mobile and 182 for Fixed Broadband.

For those unaware, the Speedtest Global Index considers the median download speed to provide a more precise representation of achievable internet speeds in a specific market, according to analytics firm Ookla.
