MPL Philippines Season 12 Week 1 was filled with action and drama as Kiel "OHEB" Soriano and Grant "Kelra" Pillas, the fierce rivals of Gold Lane, faced off again in a thrilling match.
Despite not being fully prepared, Kelra faced off against Oheb in a thrilling match but ultimately lost, giving Oheb the last laugh.
Oheb said in a post-match press conference:
Mas masarap mabuhay nang tahimik lang and mas nage-enjoy ako nang hindi nagta-trashtalk. Naniniwala ako sa karma. (It's better to live quietly and I enjoy it more without trash talking. I believe in karma.)
The first week of the tournament saw Blacklist International claim the top spot on the leaderboard, followed by ECHO, RSG PH, and AP Bren. Meanwhile, Minana EVOS remained winless.
