K-pop girl group NewJeans will perform the League of Legends World Championship (Worlds 2023) anthem, titled "GODS," Riot Games announced.
The song was composed by Sebastien Najand of Riot Games and Alex Seaver of Mako, who co-wrote several songs, including "Legends Never Die," "Awaken," "RISE," and songs on the Arcane soundtrack.
Fans can watch the "GODS" music video on YouTube or listen to any music streaming platform at 10 PM PT on October 3, 2023 (1 PM Philippine Time, October 4).

The music video for the 2023 Worlds will narrate the journey of Korean professional player Kim "Deft" Hyuk-kyu, starting from his encounter with League in high school to his incredible performance at the Worlds 2022, beating powerhouse team T1. This is not just the personal story of Deft and his indomitable spirit but also the tale of a team that defied all obstacles to claim the World Championship.
The League of Legends World Championship, commonly referred to as Worlds, is the ultimate esports competition for LoL players. It features the best teams from nine different regions competing for the world champion title. The tournament is held every year after the regular season and takes place in a different host region each time. Teams from professional leagues all over the world participate in the month-long competition.
To recap, Riot Games has done several collaborations with various K-pop performers, including the 4-member South Korean girl group Aespa and Sorn, a former CLC member.
NewJeans is a five-member K-pop girl group formed by ADOR, an independent label under HYBE led by Hee Jin Min. The group consists of Minji, Danielle, Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein. They made their debut on July 22, 2022. The K-pop band instantly captivated the global audience with their self-titled debut album, released on August 1, 2022, and became the first band to achieve the million-seller milestone. Some of their popular tracks are "OMG" and "Super Shy."
