Valorant to end support for Windows 10 version 1909, below

Valorant Philippines reminded players about the game's impending end of support for Windows 10 version 1909 and below, slated for December 1, 2023.

In a Facebook post, Valorant Philippines announced that "on December 1, 2023, VALORANT is ending support for older versions of Windows 10 (version 1909 and earlier)."

"For more details on our OS [Operating System] minimum specs and how to upgrade, see our Player Support page (https://ift.tt/2psrzBn" it added.

That said, Valorant players using Windows 10 version 1909 and below will not be able to play the game starting on December 1, 2023. For them to be able to run Valorant with no problems, they must update their OS to the latest version.

If you're using one of the following Windows 10 versions, you'll be fine:
  • 22H2 (22H2)
  • 21H2 (21H2)
  • 21H1 (21H1)
  • 20H2 (20H2)
  • 2004 (20H1)

Here's the official statement of Riot Games on why they are removing support for old versions of Windows OS, which can be found on its support page:
The world has largely moved away from these older systems, including Microsoft itself–Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and some older versions of Windows 10 are no longer supported by Microsoft, which allows cheaters to bypass certain security features that enable us to keep VALORANT safe. It strangles our development time trying to work with deprecated, vulnerable infrastructure. So, to focus the team's energy into more worthy VALORANT and Vanguard tech endeavors, we're removing these older systems from the equation.

What are the Windows 10 versions that will no longer be supported by Valorant starting December 1, 2023?

On the said date, Valorant will cease support for the following Windows versions:
  • 1909 (19H2)
  • 1903 (19H1)
  • 1809 (Redstone 5)
  • 1803 (Redstone 4)

Prior to this, Valorant ended support for other older Windows 10 versions, including 1507 (Threshold), 1511 (Threshold 2), 1607 (Redstone), 1703 (Redstone 2), and 1709 (Redstone 3), as well as all versions of Windows 7, 8, and 8.1.

If users fail to update their software, Riot Vanguard will send them periodic reminders. Here are the messages of the reminder notifications.
