According to MOONTON Games, the top ten players were selected based on a point system that included public and committee voting.

Public voting was done on two social media channels, which are Facebook and TikTok. Players were given points on a scale of 1-10 depending on their ranking after the public voting.

The voting process for the committee involves each member casting 10 votes, with each vote being worth 1 point. The committee is made up of 170 members, which includes players who participate in the M5 World Championship main stage, legendary players from each region, casters, media personnel, and other talents who are involved in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports scene.

The player pool for M Series 5th Anniversary's The Greatest 10 Players Award includes all players, regardless of whether they are from MPL or non-MPL regions. It also includes those who did not participate in M5 but played in previous M-series tournaments. The overall impact of these players on the esports scene is evaluated based on various factors, such as their stats and performance in-game.

The ten names with the highest combined points were then deemed worthy and were crowned as one of the Greatest 10 Players, who can be considered GOAT (Greatest Of All Time).
