Season 2 of the action-fantasy anime series Tower of God will be premiering on July 7, 2024, in the Philippines, Crunchyroll announced. A new key visual was also unveiled.
This announcement is a crucial moment for fans of the cherished WEBTOON series created by SIU, as it establishes the stage for a summer brimming with mystique and intrigue following the unexpected betrayal of season one.
Along with this news, the newest key visual for the next season was revealed, giving viewers a sneak peek at the story that will soon be getting more complex.
The sequel, Tower of God: Return of the Prince, will be animated by The Answer Studio.
The synopsis for Tower of God Season 2 goes like this:
Ja Wangnan can't seem to pass the 20th floor. Even after failing time and time again, he refuses to give up. On his journey, he meets a mysterious and powerful character named Viole. Wangnan invites Viole to join his team of Regulars. Their journey continues with new challenges at every turn.
Based on the South Korean manhwa series (released as a webtoon) written and illustrated by SIU, "Tower of God" follows the story of Twenty-Fifth Bam, a young boy who has lived much of his life confined beneath a huge and enigmatic Tower. His only companion is his close friend, Rachel. Bam is devastated upon Rachel's entry into the Tower. Bam gets into the Tower and opens the door somehow. He is now willing to sacrifice everything, including his life, to see Rachel again. Upon entering the Tower, he encounters allies who will assist him in ascending the Tower.
Since June 2010, it has been serialized on Naver Webtoon, a webtoon platform owned by Naver Corporation.
The web manhwa initially received an anime TV series adaptation by Telecom Animation Film, originally aired from April to June 2020. Tower of God Season 1 had 13 episodes.
