The upcoming superhero 6v6 shooter Marvel Rivals unveiled new characters, including Thor and Jeff the Land Shark, as well as details for the closed beta test (CBT). Check out more details below.

At San Diego Comic-Con, NetEase Games and Marvel Games revealed the full story details of the Marvel Rivals, the star-studded voice cast, and the new heroes Thor and Jeff the Land Shark. The two fan-favorite Super Heroes will even join the currently running closed beta midway on July 27, 2024.

This new Super Hero Team-Based PVP Shooter will enable players to form an all-star team of Super Heroes and Super Villains to battle with unique powers across a dynamic roster of destructible maps from throughout the Marvel Multiverse.

Marvel Rivals immersed players in a gripping story set within the Marvel Universe, in which heroes and villains banded together to combat an impending cosmic menace. The recently released story trailer displayed the deep, engrossing storyline and hinted at important plot twists that players would discover as they travel through the game.

Marvel Rivals' closed beta test (CBT) is now open until August 5, 2024, on all platforms, including PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, and includes full cross-platform play across regions.

At a special Marvel Games event, it was revealed that Thor and Jeff the Land Shark will also be playable characters in the Closed Beta on July 27, 2024. Thor, the God of Thunder, delivers his tremendous hammer and lightning skills, while Jeff the Land Shark adds his own distinct charm and fury to the game.

The Marvel Rivals team showcased their musical and voiceover ability. Their musical lineup includes industry veterans Shota Nakama, the creator of Video Games Orchestra, and famed guitarist Godspeed.

Some of the star-studded voice casts are Cassandra Lee Morris (Persona 5's Morgana) as Galacta, Mara Junot as Storm, Troy Baker as Loki, Nolan North as Rocket Racoon, and Yuri Lowenthal as Spider-Man.

In Marvel Rivals, players can choose heroes from three roles based on their distinctive power preferences: Vanguard, Duelist, and Strategist. They will be able to pick their chosen role and hero, forming alliances to create a varied and dynamic battle lineup. Moreover, with Team-Up Abilities, they'll be able to take team-play collaboration to new heights, unleashing combined abilities with their allies and ripping down the battlefield to win spectacular fights.
